The latest issue of the Spennymoor Patriot, our local British National Party leaflet for the town, calls for jobs created by the Durham Gate project in Spennymoor to go to local workers.
The £200m Durham Gate project is set to create 2,000 jobs, and there are fears that many of them will be given away to foreign workers, as was the case with the Chilton power station, where Lithuanian, Finnish and German staff were employed over local people.
The leaflet contains a petition for people to sign if they want to see the new jobs go to the local community rather than to other parts of the country or to foreign labour.
The first of these leaflets will be delivered this Sunday. Please get in touch if you would like to help deliver them.
